Michael Wise Nominated as Director of South Carolina Department of Insurance (4/26/2023)

South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster has nominated Michael Wise as director of the South Carolina Department of Insurance, subject to confirmation by the state Senate. Wise has served as acting director of the department since April 2022. McMaster praised Wise’s leadership in the department’s handling of Hurricane Ian claims, insurance fraud, and consumer outreach.  The appointment is subject to confirmation by the South Carolina Senate.
